Frequently Asked Questions

  • I hear AB and EV used a lot. What do they mean?

AB refers to absentee voting. The start and ending dates are set by the legislature and signify the first and last date that county clerks are allowed to send previously requested absentee ballots to properly registered voters.
EV refers to the start of early in person voting. In Lincoln County, there is only one location to begin with that is open to the voter. That location is at the clerk's office in Carrizozo... later other areas within the county are provided by the County Clerk.

  • I heard one man say that GOTV was the most imprtant thing the local party can accomplish. What is GOTV?

The acronym GOTV refers to "get out the vote!" If the candidates are getting their message out to the voters, and no one votes what good has it accomplished? None!!!
Therefore, we feel here in the local Lincoln County Republican Party that getting out the vote, "GOTV" is the single most important thing we can help our Candidates accomplish.

  • What does RPLC stand for?

The acronym "RPLC" stands for The Republican Party of Lincoln County. Like our web address, you may also see it as "rplcnm" further describing it as a New Mexico County.
